  • Wrote request to supply new core and edge switches for a large institution, managed the entire process including drafting the evaluation tool and chairing evaluation consensus meetings, vendor presentations and gave debriefings to proponents on request;

As Purchasing Manager for a Post Secondary Institution:

  • Wrote and recommended revised procurement policies and procedures, now adopted by the institution;
  • Improved the procurement business process through the development of web based purchasing systems and implementation of a purchasing card process;
  • Managed and/or wrote Request for Proposals for complex services including Design-Build Construction, Prime Consultant Services, Telecommunications services and equipment, Janitorial and other services;
  • Led the procurement of Employee Assistance services and Stationery system contracts on behalf of several public organizations.
  • Wrote RFP's for the procurement of major acquisitions such as Computers and related technology equipment, Software, Audio-Visual equipment and installation services, Furnishings including office system furnishings and institutional residential furnishings;
  • Contract manager of telecommunication voice services. Implemented a new dialing plan for 1100 users, and working with the contractor, decentralized and improved voice communications management administration.
  • As Registrar for the BC Institute of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada:
  •     Developed and implemented policy and procedures to ensure the quality assurance of accredited members. 
  • As General Manager of Retail General Merchandise and Petroleum Stores:
  •     Executive responsibility for all operations management including: policy and procedures, reporting and control systems, product selection, inventory control and store merchandising.
